All within this globe of protection are immune to normal cold as low as absolute zero. The sphere is centered on and moves with the creature touched. Against magical cold, the spell gives a +4 bonus to the protected creature's saving throw, and reduces damage by 50%. Otherwise, the effect of the spell varies with the caster's level.

At 12th level, damage from magical cold is reduced to one-quarter (save for one-eighth).

At 15th level, damage from magical cold is completely negated.

The material component of the spell is a smoldering ember.

Notes: Uncommon for abjurers; otherwise, rare.
